What is apple cider vinegar?

Apple cider vinegar is nothing more than the product made from fermented cider. Commercially available apple cider vinegar contains 5-6% acetic acid. It tastes mild, sour and fruity at the same time.

Apple cider vinegar is not the only vinegar made from fruit, but it is a type of vinegar that is common and used in naturopathy.

All modes of action of apple cider vinegar in naturopathy are traditional and traditional, but not scientifically proven. Except for one property: Apple cider vinegar (like any other vinegar) has a disinfectant effect due to its acidity.

We’ll show you what you can do with the delicious vinegar mixed with water.

acne

Disinfecting toner

Mix apple cider vinegar with water in a ratio of 1: 2, i.e. one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with two tablespoons of water. Shake well and store in a cool bottle.

After cleansing the face with a cotton ball, rub the face with the apple cider vinegar mixture to disinfect the skin of the face. Ideal for acne. Be careful with open pimples: the acid then burns into skin injuries!

dry hair

Shine for the hair

The acetic acid in apple cider vinegar causes the cuticle of your hair to close tightly and so the light can be better reflected: your hair shines.

Every hair conditioner therefore contains acid, but you can also easily make it yourself by mixing apple cider vinegar and water in equal parts (1: 1) and pouring it over your hair after shampooing and then distributing it well.

Do not wash out! The smell disappears when the hair is dried!

Odor killers:

After a barbecue, an odor-intensive meal or simply after a stay in a smoker’s household, the clothes smell unpleasant.

If you don’t have a way to ventilate them outdoors, for example on a balcony, the vinegar water trick will help. To do this, pour  water and apple cider vinegar in a ratio of 1: 2 into a spray bottle, a pump sprayer or a flower sprayer and use them to wet the smelly clothing.

Let the textiles dry – and the smell is gone!

Wrinkle killer:

The dress, blouse or top that you want to wear tonight has hung too tight in the closet for too long and then there is no more time to send it to the dry cleaner or to wash it? Never mind With apple cider vinegar and water , wrinkles and cabinet odor will disappear quickly and effectively!

If it is a smaller item of clothing such as a shirt or top, it is sufficient to hang the item on a hanger above the stove (for example on the cooker hood). On the stove, mix equal parts vinegar and water in a large saucepan and bring the mixture to a boil.

The steam smooths the wrinkles in the textile and the apple cider vinegar removes bad smells and “cupboard grumbling” from the fibers.

If the item of clothing is larger (e.g. a dress), you should hang it on the shower curtain rail, for example, and let steaming hot water with apple cider vinegar run into the shower or bathtub.

Close the bathroom door and give the garment an apple cider vinegar steam bath!

Color Freshener:

Carpet cleaning is expensive and time-consuming. To freshen up a short-pile carpet, revive the colors and remove bad rumors, vinegar water is also a tried and tested home remedy.

To do this, mix water and vinegar in a cleaning bucket in a ratio of approx. 1:10, i.e. about one bottle of apple cider vinegar for one bucket of cleaning water. The carpet should be vacuumed well beforehand. Now find a lint-free cotton cloth and a scrubber.

Rub the carpet with the cloth moistened in vinegar water, and then do not apply too much pressure on the carpet and cloth with the scrubber. Too much pressure would push the dirt with the vinegar water into the carpet fabric and not wipe it off.

Do this all over the carpet and then let it dry. You will see how fresh the colors shine afterwards!

Apple Cider Vinegar

Soft drink

A tablespoon of apple cider vinegar dissolved in water makes a wonderful soft drink for the summer, which the ancient Romans also knew .

If you take carbonated mineral water and mix in some fruit juice (for example apple juice), you have a kind of natural lemonade.

Be careful not to use more than a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar per glass of water – too much acid in the drink damages tooth structure and can cause heartburn!
