5 Beverages Against Constipation

Don’t forget that there is an important amount of fiber in the skin of the fruit. That’s why you should use them if possible. Buy organically grown fruit to benefit from it.

5 beverages against constipation

There are many natural remedies for constipation, the easiest of which is to eat foods that work against constipation every day. In this article, we introduce different beverages for constipation that can help improve bowel function.

Constipation drinks better than juices

Although natural, fresh juices are very healthy and are high in vitamins and minerals, beverages against constipation are more  helpful because they contain valuable fiber that is lost in juice production.

They also have a more filling effect  and are therefore ideal for breakfast or in the afternoon instead of snacks with sugar or refined flour.

Honey to sweeten

Instead of sugar, which is poison for the body, we recommend – if necessary – healthy sweeteners: acacia honey is ideal, as it has a slightly laxative effect at the same time. Other honey or molasses made from fruit (apple, pear) or grain are also recommended.

Drinks for constipation with kefir and prunes

Kefir is a fermented yogurt – but easier to digest and with less lactose – that helps  improve the intestinal flora. You can buy kefir or make it yourself.

Plums are rich in calcium and therefore highly recommended as a preventative against osteoporosis. At the same time, they contain a lot of fiber and have been known as a good remedy for constipation since ancient times. The plums should be soaked overnight before use.

Drinks for constipation with oats and dates

In contrast to rice drinks, which often cause constipation, an oat drink is rich in mucilage, which then has a laxative effect.

You can use oat milk for this smoothie, or you can soak a spoonful of oatmeal in hot water for an hour before preparing it. Dates contain a lot of fiber and provide energy, so this smoothie is particularly recommended in the morning.

The oatmeal gives the smoothie a creamy texture and the dates add sweetness.

Constipation drinks with apple and kiwi fruit

An apple helps with both diarrhea and constipation. The secret lies in the shell, which is high in fiber. However, you should definitely buy untreated apples so that you can safely use the peels.

You can use a raw or a cooked apple, the latter has a more intense taste. The kiwi is a fruit that is traditionally eaten after a fast because of its laxative properties.

Yogurt and figs

Yogurt is a good alternative if you can’t buy or make kefir, but it doesn’t contain as many enzymes. Use natural yogurt without sugar, coloring, or artificial flavors.

Figs – whether fresh or dried – contain a lot of fiber and give this smoothie sweetness.

Hazelnuts and flax seeds

Hazelnuts and flax seeds contain a lot of valuable fiber and can be used with a vegetable juice of your choice. Simply mix a handful of hazelnuts or a teaspoon of flaxseed with the juice.

Hazelnuts regulate blood sugar levels, among other things. Hazelnut milk can be bought ready-made, but you can also easily make it yourself. It also tastes excellent with cocoa.

The flax seeds are soaked overnight to loosen the phlegm. The rest of the water can also be used in the smoothie.
